This Rousimar is a damn clown. Insufferable MF. Damn!
Andre getting out-roided
Haven’t practiced Judo in a long time but this video is giving me the urge to get back on the mat! Thanks!
10:46 '' o toquinho porque voce faz isso '' cara mais desleal que teve no esporte ... uma pena
Wow, what a high quality human being. I had no idea.
This is day one stuff.
Especially if you plan on competing, no point of doing it as you will never compete against them
Professor Budo, how can I get your mailing address to send you a book?
Great coming back to this 🙏
Galvão muito técnico e toquinho muita força
To be clear Heisenberg was a Jewish Nazi that created nuclear weapons. Just saying not the greatest guy ever. I am going to call this move the Oppenheimer guard or the “ O guard”
Awww man, coulda been a face full of balls
This is gold
Erik is a legend went from a great mma fighter to a great mma teacher
This is Kaisen, Osu!
Galvao before the juice lol
Wonder who he was talking about having great jiu-jitsu but MMA not for him, and he said his first fight was his retirement fight. Two names that come to mind that it could have been are JJ Machado and Marcelo Garcia-- two of the greatest no gi grapplers of all time, but badly failed MMA debuts.
Big fan of Carlson Gracie Jr!
14 years ago ! Jeff in his twenties !
MARCO RUAS!
Erik is awesome
Love Erik Paulson. Hope to train with him someday.
"Jake, if I was bad, this is worse. This IS THE WORST!" Cracks me up every time.
He was superhuman that year. It was unreal.

hidden gem
Jii-Jitsu has terrible rulsets. Even the most wrestle heavy rulesets like ADCC are extremely flawed. There needs to be more incentive for takedowns & more aggressive stalling calls. All reverals and escapes from bottom to standing should also be rewarded, as these are things that are rewarded in an actual fight.
Out of curiosity, you stress "even the most wrestle heavy rulesets" which sounds like you prefer them. I don't know Jack about wrestling rules, so what makes those rulesets better? Do they promote certain facets of the game or something like that or is it just personal preference because you are comfortable with them? Thx😊
Almost any time you watch Jiu-jitsu, the most exciting rulesets (from a Spectator perspective) tend to be the ones that incentivize Takedowns. The exchanges & scrambles are super exciting and provide a lot of entertainment for even people that don't necessarily understand grappling. Even in submission only rulesets, a lot of times you will get a 5-10 minute regulation period with no points where nothing happens, then in overtime when points start & you can't pull guard (ADCC Overtime rules) the matches are instantly action packed. Watch almost any of the fight pass invitational overtimes or ADCC Overtimes. It's just much more exciting that one guy butt scooting & the other trying to pass. It's also much more practical for actual self defense & combat, which is the original entire point of submission grappling/ Jiu jitsu.
Thanks for the reply, mate. I'll need to watch it more with that at the back of my mind, but yea, impact and action being more spectator friendly sounds about right, I think.
I think giving the back to avoid takedown points should not be able to happen. You take me down and I turtle or go to all fours, then stand back up, you still get one point. A clean throw should be awarded points even if the thrown guy stands back up before 3 seconds. A solution for 50/50, either allow heel hooks or allow the ref to break and reset back to standing or some other position.
@@greasebob yeah a takedown to any position once a knee is down should be points for sure.
so 15 years later still a problem
Woah Rickson and Braulio in the background look so young!
Roger
4:31 is a culture problem and it’s everywhere. Lack of respect, especially respect towards elders. Hollywood, rap and mainstream and social media is rotting our culture from the inside out. Traditional Martial Arts should be taught in elementary schools.
Am i missing something? I didnt see anybody pull guard
Saulo is always Brilliant ❤
I’m so proud of being apart of his lineage, being a full instructor myself under Guro Inosanto and being one of Erik’s students. The man is truly a legend and beyond humble.
Loved the lessons and heart in this episode.
Really sad to see the absolutely beautiful muscle boy Jimmy Brasco lose this match
He put the diligent work in we all can benefit from learning from him.
Thank you, I love the half guard, definitely going to review this over n over
So, you have a black belt in BJJ? Let's have a cage match! You brag too much!
Gold
in real life he woulda murdered timothee chamarlet
“Piece of cake”….I love it!
